Post Re: How to tighten the diff on a tt-01
I have a ball diff and oneway for sale for anyone drifting ... I have 2 x outdrives that accept the standard TT dogbone and a set that accepts the narrower TL-01 type dogbone ...

This lock the diff when spinning, but while normal driving it work like a normal diff.

Hi ACEZ i'm new to this hobby and only recently started competing in the TT-01 Stock class with my first race yesterday. Just wanted to know if this can be used for racing around a track or is it only good for drifting, if it can be used around the track, what effect will it have on my car,
1) if i use it on the rear diff only
2) if i use it on the front diff only
3) if i use it on both front and rear diffs
also on the same subject of diffs, i'm currently using ball bearing diffs on my car but also have plenty spare planetary diffs which i can try this with but wanted to know how to set my ball bearing diffs as they came with a secondhand car that i bought and i don't have a manual to adjust them but they are similar to the ones used on a TB Evolution chassis, according to the manual for the TB Evolution chassis you supposed to tighten the allen key full and loosen 1 rotation but when i did this the motor turned the propshaft only and the car stood still as the diffs were to loose so i tightened them and loosen only a 1/4 of a rotation but would like to know how i would be able to know if they are set just right

Not sure if you are still racing or have found out already but if you are racing in the Tamiya cup you are not allowed to modify the diff in anyway other than the way it was initially intended to be used.

If you are using it for club racing it should be fine although may not last too long as you have way more traction than with drifting!

If you have tried it already let us know your findings.

I'm running a TT01D, and I have done this mod with the nitro pipe.

For the rear I used a little bit longer length than the original post, and for the front I used only a very thin piece of tubing. So i ended up with a very tight ( although not locked) rear diff, and a "limited slip" front. This is a easy mod and it worked great.
