The idea is that you have lower drag with smaller wheels, and make up the grip by having 4 front wheels. The design was only retired because Goodyear wasn't spending enough time on the special tyres. With modern rubber, the car won't the Historic F1 series in 2000 and 2008! Bit of Tamiya history. In a bizzare move, Tamiyia released the 1977 spec 6-wheeler as only their third RC kit (58003), after the two Porshe 911s. This was before RC racing, let alone F1 racing got started. This was re-released on a F103-derived chassis a few years back, including an XB version. This new re-re-release looks to be on the same chassis, but it is the older 1976 spec with the open engine. I doubt these are raced much (or intended for racing). It's a piece of history rather...

Yeah its the same....just that Tamiya now released it as a drift spec kit & none of the touring car decals.
