When you register, an email is sent immediately (it should get to you within a second or two). If you don't get it, the odds are your junk/spam mail filter has trapped it - so have a look in your junk/spam mail folder. Once you have received this email, click on the link supplied to complete the registration process (this is to verify your email address). You are only permitted one account per person.

This is a public forum which is privately owned, therefore you are expected to respect the rights of other members, the public & the owners. By registering you are agreeing to abide by these rules below which apply to all posts on the site.

1. Language. You must agree to keep your temper cool & your language suitable for general readership (from young children to grandparents). No swearing, and no trying to get around the swear filter. The reason for this is to keep the forum a usable & pleasant place for the older generations, while setting an example for the younger.

2. Be polite. Under no circumstance will personal insults nor impolite comments nor antagonistic remarks be tolerated. It is also considered impolite to register under multiple usernames, so that is also not allowed.

3. Nothing personal. When you have a clash of opinion, make sure you argue the point, & never make the argument in any way personal. Should you feel you MUST respond we urge you to contact a Moderator to ***ist your dispute.

4. Grammar. Please spell new topic subjects correctly, also try to make them informative (avoid "Which one?" or "Help!" or similar one/two word topics). Please use English only. NO text speak will be accepted (example: m 8 , g r 8, u r etc, but without the spaces).

5. Nothing illegal. No illegal stuff please. Whilst we are the first to admit that many of our laws are useless & wrong, we are trying to steer this forum into being a useful & deep resource for many types of person. Many forums deteriorate into places where kids & idiots will brag and argue about road racing & the like, so in order to deter this behaviour I ask that everything here be kept legal, however trivial. This should stump the fools at the starting gun, with luck.

6. Graphics. Please limit avatars to small, non animated pictures, which are non-offensive, signatures may contain images (non-animated) and must be no more than 5 lines deep, and any links must not be referral links (those are the ones trying to make money - like spam) to other organisations or companies. Linking to anything else, including similar forums, is absolutely fine

7. Libel. Under SA law both the poster and the website owner are liable to prosecution if libellous comments are published. A libellous comment is an untrue one that is damaging to the person or business. Anyone doing this will be banned unconditionally.

8. Commercial. All buying and selling is to be done in the For Sale & Wanted forum and is subject to the
trading rules. You may not sell stuff or link to for sale stuff in your signature. "Gauging Interest" threads will be edited or deleted by Mods, either you're selling something or you're not. The trading rules do not permit you to promote your ebay auction or external sale. A link to an site is fine in any forum if the auction is not yours, and is posted to help direct a member to a useful product. If you are a commercial organisation & want to promote your product, then this can be done in the Vendor forum(Contact admin for more information. All funds from this will go towards hosting the site.). If a dealer has his own forum section, then he may use this, but may not promote his dealership in any way on another dealer forum, nor may he PM a member who has posted a question on another dealer forum.

9. Cl***ified Prefixes. Any item posted within the cl***ifieds section must have its prefix updated pending the sale or withdraw. Registered users are granted 120 days in which they may update the prefix of their item of sale, there after you are requested to PM one of the admins / moderators requesting that your thread be updated with the appropriate prefix.

10. PM's.
Although the above rules are for public posts, it is not permitted to send a PM that may cause significant offence to the recipient. It is the responsibility of the sender to gauge what "significant offence" may be, but it normally includes personal attacks combined with use of poor language. The recipient should use the "report PM" function.

11. Provoking. Statements such as "fetching popcorn" or "this is going to be good" in situations where an admin or moderator has reprimanded another user, or where there is a discrepancy between users will not be tolerated. If you are found to provoke a situation or condone it you will be issued with a warning.

12. Respect. Decisions made by a moderator are final and no public correspondence will be entered into. Should conflict exist between you & a moderator and you feel that their actions were unfair then you reserve the right to contact any of the other moderators for review of your infraction. Moderators shall within their own time raise the issues you have addressed and revert back to you. Should no response be received by a moderator then the infraction remains in force.

13. Nudity. No nudity will be allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, anything which would normally be covered by underwear, etc. Please use your own discretion here, I think we all know what is cl***ified as nudity. If you set out to purposefully push the limit's we will be less lenient on what is allowed. This is after all an RC forum.

14.Thread Jacking. Thread jacking on most forums is considered bad internet etiquette. Thread jacking within the cl***ifieds section is strictly prohibited - if you dont have anything of value to add to another person's thread within this section then refrain from posting. All other sections of the forum shall be monitored, how ever if reported by a thread author to any of the admins/mods, action shall be taken against those guilty of thread jacking.

15.Posting guidelines. We will post up a set of guidelines to make it a little easier to read a for sale thread, please try to use these as it will make it easier on both the buyer and seller in getting the correct information at the beginning of a sale. If you have a successful(or difficult) transaction, PLEASE, make use of the rating system on the users profile to ***ist future users in deciding who to deal with.

We will try to warn rule breakers first, then issue a temporary ban, then a permanent ban. We reserve the right to skip any of these phases!

Moderation guidelines in use on this site:

Moderation will be the very rare exception, and not the rule.
Poor spelling and poorly worded thread titles will not be edited (though you will look much better if you put a little effort in). Incorrect spelling in thread titles may be edited, just to help people who search with words spelt correctly.
Hopeless thread titles (like "Question", "What is the", "eh?" and so on) will be expanded.
All edits will be shown, in line and in context.
Personal insults, unnecessary language, clearly libellous claims, (in other words, the very exceptional clearly unacceptable posting) will be moderated – but the post will show where & what has been removed, and maybe why.

A note about privacy (We always like to know how data is used). All the information you see here(including posts, registration info, PMs, poll votes & so on) is held on a database. Only we have access to this database. If we could be bothered to delve into the database(which we can't) We could read the text of PMs(but it takes a while to work out the sender & recipient). We do reserve the right to inspect PMs in the event of illegal activity or serious rule breaking. Whenever you use any website(including this) the site records your IP address, what you're looking at & sometimes words you used at a search engine(to show how you got here). We will not give or sell your personal registration information to anyone other than the police, & will not spam you with emails, unless it's really important(moving the site, or major downtime for example). Copyright of all material held by the poster that is published on this site p***es to the site owner.

P***words are not held on the database here. When you enter your p***word, a bit of complex maths is done on it, & the result stored here. To verify the p***word, the maths is done again and the result compared with the result held here. You cannot convert the maths result back into a p***word (double MD5 hash with seed).

Stuff to do if you've just registered:

Go to your control panel, and enter your details(including your location).
Post a hello in the introduce yourself forum.
Become acquainted with the Search facility - if you ask a question that has already been answered, people will shout at you!

Thank you for taking the time to read through this... Now let's go have some fun!
