    Hi all,

This was the go to place after a Sunday drift meet or a Wednesday evening hookup, I came on here and many others to talk setup; brag or simply talk some nonsense. In the heyday you would get a reply within 10 seconds of posting, you would get honest and helpful remarks and the odd hilarious comment/s. When you saw certain names online you knew in one thread or other some heated conversation was happening and popcorn was needed.

Browse the build thread section and it would keep you occupied for hours, for sale section had things that would interest everyone and items would get sold within hours if not minutes (at the right price of course). There was social media but at that time it was of no concern and we were all of the understanding that a forum is here to stay as it had information stored.
It would seem that stored information is not as important as instant showing off or putting content out immediately and having it trend and what we did not see coming was the death of this forum. Let's face it, it's done and dusted. yep sure we get 300 views for a topic but let me make it clear out of those 300 views its 5 to 10 die-hard Oneten members and the rest are bots. Also of that 5-10 members 1 of them will view the thread close to 10 times. So when we apply some math, we will realise content is not spreading and this place is no longer useful. This place was bigger than social media and I remember when DEVO created a website and blog etc, people rather came to Oneten, that is no more the case!

A few of us (5-10 members) tried resuscitating Oneten and I made it my mission to post images; stories and adverts here first and Cisco and Vimal would then take that content and spread it on social media in the hopes people would come back here knowing information gets uploaded here first. Sadly it's easier opening up FB and Insta before Oneten and I saw how this place was basically struggling each day to survive.

Otis started one of the biggest message boards in Africa and when he left Kwagga kept this place afloat, soon after Vimal became owner...all three of these guys deserve applause but not more than each person who posted (1 post to a 100000 posts) to each person who viewed threads and sat hours going through posts. I will miss this place the most, it was where I kept and stored information and a place I kept coming back to check up on old posts to see just how far we have grew and how we made SA's RC drifting alot better than what it was.

Oneten had a great innings, and I think it should be laid to rest, but maybe rename RC drifting South Africa FB to Oneten or something? This shows respect to a place that united everyone in SA be it RC drifting, RC grip racing or off-road.

I hope we can save all the information on here, if not I atleast have it all in my head...

Ladies and gentlemen, this is the count down to the closure of the Oneten forum.
I will be arranging with the host to close the site at the end of January 2018.
It's been fun, but in the words of porky pig,
    "Th-Th-The, Th-Th-The, Th-Th... That's all, folks!"
